Medicinal Seeds

CalendulaCalendula is a hardy annual that is a prolific grower and self-seeder. A favorite among bees, calendula blooms early summer into fall. The more you harvest the flowers, the more will grow into fall. Calendula is known to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory components that aids in protecting against heart disease and ease muscle fatigue.


California PoppyCalifornia Poppy consists of bright orange/yellow flowers blooming all summer long into fall. Another prolific grower, care is minimal and it self sows.  All parts of the California Poppy is used by herbalists to assist with anxiety, aches, nervous agitation and many other conditions.


CatnipCatnip is a perennial, herbaceous plant that grows to be 20–40 inches tall and wide, and that blooms from late spring to autumn. It has a fragrant smell that is loved by pollinators. Catnip can be used to treat intestinal cramps, as a sedative, and to increase appetite as an example of its many medicinal benefits.


FoxgloveSOLD OUT

Foxgloves come in a variety of colors that include white, pink, and purple. It is a low maintenance plant that provides a splash of color in bouquets as well as having medicinal value. For medicinal usage, consult with an herbalist before consuming.


GoldenrodGoldenrod consists of bright yellow clusters of flowers that blooms late summer into fall.  This hardy perennial is loved by beneficial pollinators and helps draw bad bugs away from vegetable crops . It is used in herbal remedies and teas, improving urinary health and reducing inflammation. Care is minimal, requiring rainwater and no deadheading required.


HorehoundHorehound is part of the mint family and supports the respiratory system and lungs. As such, it is used to remedy common respiratory issues like coughs, indigestion to name a few aliments.


HyssopHyssop is a perennial evergreen that grows vigorously in full sun and regular soil. It grows bluish-purple flowers that gives off a lovely aromatic smell. It can be used in salads, pastas and summer soups outside of it’s medicinal uses mostly commonly known to fight common colds and fight various viruses.


Lemon BalmLemon Balm is a bushy perennial that grows vigorously in sun or light shade. It can be used in teas, meals and teas as well as containing many medicinal uses.

It contains antioxidant and antimicrobial properties which help prevent cell damage and kill infection-causing organisms.


MotherwortMotherwort is a perennial in the mint family. It forms upright, prickly bush with dark green leaves and furry purple or pink flowers. It is used medicinally for heart conditions, including heart failure, irregular/fast heartbeat, and heart symptoms due to anxiety. It can also used to stimulate menstrual periods.


MulleinMullein is a biennial that prefers full sun to part shade. It can tolerate regular garden soil or dry, poor soil or abandoned fields. Fall or spring is the perfect time to sow seeds by scattering on the surface in the garden. It can grow quite tall and has many medicinal uses.


StingingNettleStinging Nettle is a tall perennial that grows up to 6.5 feet. It is known for its stinging leaves when touched. Medically it aids in skin and bone health and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.


StJohnsWortSt. John’s Wort is a beautiful perennial plant loved by pollinators. It is also used medicinally to help provide assistance against depression, anxiety, and skin conditions.


ValerianValerian is a tall, flowering perennial plant. It is used to treat insomnia, migraine, fatigue and stomach cramps.


MulleinWild Lettuce is a winter annual meaning seeds will germinate in late summer or early fall only to flower next year. It is used to reduce pain or induce sleep. The leaves, sap (latex) and seeds are used in medicine.

ArugulaArugula is a leaf vegetable that has a peppery, spicy flavor tasty in salads. It is a nutritious source of calcium, iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate, potassium and magnesium.


ChivesChives are similar to green onions but milder. They are a nutrient-dense food that is low in calories but high in nutrients that includes vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Often used as a garnish, chives will provide continual growth through the growing season.


ColumbineColumbine is an attractive perennial that blooms from early spring to early summer. They are a hardy flower that is deer resistant and drought tolerant. It will self-sow if left to produce seeds. Seeds are from plants that produced yellow flowers and others from flowers that were pink.


Curly DockCurly Dock is a perennial broadleaf weed if not contained or roots removed, can spread each year. It’s leaves, stem, seeds, and roots are all edible and has diuretic effects, which can aid in urinary infections. The cooling root can be used to assist with inflammatory skin conditions and is useful against internal inflammation.


Green SageGreen Sage is a herb that has a woody stem with soft green leaves. It is a perennial that grows into a bushy plant given proper care. Sage has a lot of nutritional value and is tasty in tomato sauces or even made into sage butter.

LovageLovage is a herbaceous perennial that can grow 6-8 feet tall. Resembling the taste of celery it can be used in soups, stalk, or poultry dishes where celery is required.

Lupin is a tall, showy flower that is stunning in flower beds or bouquets. The foliage resembles palm leaves and with proper care can be a perennial. Seeds are from plants that were pink and purple.


NasturtiumNasturtium, producing a wide range of colors, is one of those plants that has many benefits, both as a companion plant attracting harmful pests away from valuable crops as well as being a colorful addition in meals. It also can be used to treat urinary tract infections, coughs and if applied directly to the skin with other herbs help aid mild muscular pain.


Opium PoppyOpium Poppy is a stunning plant that is loved by pollinators. It loves to grow in a sunny spot with good drainage adding height to any garden bed. Sow between the end of August and October for more flowers in the first season.


Sweet PeaSweet Pea is a flowering annual climbing plant that is attractive on trellis, arches or even in bouquets. It has a sweet flower smell and produces a variety of colors.


White CampionWhite Campion is an annual that readily self-seeds. It can grow to 40 inches high where the stems branch freely. It produces leaves at the base of the stem which usually die off once it flowers. The white flowers grow in clusters lasting from late spring to early autumn.
